Plenty of new internet cafes opening up in Bali

Right now I am sitting in a new internet cafe located on Gang Ronta, between Poppies I & II. The place is somewhat non descript and is located across from Warung Pama. The price per minute is 250rp.

Many of the internet cafes in Kuta, Legian and Seminyak are 250rp per minutes and have decent connection. You can tell the decent ones because someone has invested in good hardware and th places are AC. Best to avoid the places with crap hardware.

One of the most successful local internet cafes (that attracts Balinese) is Pratama). They have several outlets including Jl. Drupadi, Jl. Setiabudi, Kerobokan and other places. The speed is slow but the price is nice (about 6,000rp per hour). Many of the newer places have machines with desk mounted computers and front end USB ports. They also have Mozilla browser (Ctrl T) new window).

Nick,
do you have any preference about hotel in Seminyak or Kuta area that is nice (The Oberoi, everyone?), got a great pool, great food, and family friendly with small kids.

Any advice would be appreciated.
