Paddy’s is a parking lot in Kuta Bali

With the of the Sari Club and Paddy’s being developed for parking lots, I rode down there this afternoon and sure enough, Paddy’s is a parking lot.

In that part of town parking and space in general is at a premium. The land is worth a lot of money. The Sari Club site is just a grassy space with a few banners.

Hi Nick, there has been a lot of negative comments about Paddy’s being turned into a parking lot here in Australia.
I really think the Memorial that has been erected is lovely and people need to understand that the Balinese need to move on and use both Paddy’s and Sari Club as they see fit. After all it is their country and a lot of Balinese also died - it isn’t always all about us Aussies.

And so it should. It happened three years ago. Enough time has been given for everyone to visit and pay their respects.

Perhaps there is the general feeling that Bali belongs to Australia. Good on the Balinese for moving on from that tragic event. After all it did hit them more than it hit us. There is a memorial to every person who lost their life in the bombings and it is touching to visit it. People who are trully inclined ot give a shit about what happened have already made the trip to pay their respects..The rest just sit back in their armchairs and say “well I will never go to Bali coz it’s just too dangerous, but I think…….” Who really gives two shits what they think? The locals have to do what they have to do with their land.
