Today I got to talk to a whole range of interesting people. First up to bat was my buddy Sean in Oregon who calls me once a week to see I am okay.

He’s coming out at the end of this month and we’ll enjoy the good weather and food once again.

I rode over to the Umalas Cafe Moka and said hi to some of the staff ( Agung etc. ) that I used to see everyday at the Jalan Seminyak branch.

I had a downtown meeting with an immigration man that went well, a truly Indonesian encounter.

At home around 6pm my phone rang and it was Mick Turnbull. His folks are over from Melbourne and he threw a BBQ. I’m typing this from his balcony and sweat is rolling off me ( its only 10.55pm ). Tonight we had Ebong, Marcel and other favourites fom the blog inlcluding Chris Brown ( Mr Halfway up Gunung Agung ).

People are getting pretty merry down by the pool and I want to get through my e-mail so I can join them.

Surfers. The monsoon is late this year meaning you can still surf on the west coast. I reckon in the next couple of weeks we should get some rain meaning Nusa Dua and Serangan will be popular all of a sudden.

Pool party, how come I wasn’t invited. Nick, sounds like your having some serious fun these days. Good to hear. We made it safe from the San Diego fires, but a bad scene. I’m really enjoying your writing style. Definately has improved over the months. Cheers,

Josh

Great to hear from you Josh. I met recently with Pr and Tricia from San Deigo and they talked about the darnkened skies and the falling ash. Being out here I only have my own experince of California fires to realte to and this sounds like the daddy of all fires.

The party last night was little BBQ action at Mick’s place including his parents, some other friends of ours and truckload of Mick’s lady friends.

The steak was excellent and the beer was flowing. By the time people started gathering round the pool I relaised I still had online stuff to do and went upstairs to use his computer. By the time I finished all the lady’s and most of the guests had already left.

Its steamy here in Bali now, sunny too.

Hi Nick - long time, no chat.

Our plans are finalized now, and my wife and I will be arriving in Bali Jan 28th - hopefully the weather will be good, and you’ll be able to meet up with us for a couple of beverages..

Cheers,

D.
