Muslim women protest pornography bill in Indonesia

Indonesian womens groups staged protests on Wednesday aimed at Muslim Sharia Law and the anti-pornography bill. The proposed bill isn’t really about pornography, its about imposing strict Muslim codes on the country, written and put forward by a man who seeks to turn Indonesia into a Sharia state.

Muslim Indonesian women feel they are getting the short end of the stick and do not want the anti-pornography bill to pass. The protests took place in front of the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Banda Aceh, Yogya and Surabaya. Although many Muslim women in Indonesia clover up well at the moment, they fee they are are being unfairly blamed for society’s ills.
