Mt.Merapi spews lava on west side

Mt. Merapi in Central Java has spewed lava 1.5 km on its west side. There has also been a flow towards th south of 200m.

Indonesian Vice President Josef Kalla flew over in a helicopter to check out the danger level. The danger level is still 3 on a scale of 0-4, but people in the immediate area are advized to leave. Pyroclastic flows can travel faster than you cold ride a motorbike away from the volcano, so basically if you are in the way when it goes off, you could get cooked.
