This morning I looked at the Jakarta Post and saw that the Minister for Justice, Mr Yusril Ihza Mahendra, the fellow who wants to wreck the tourism industry is at it again.
He doesn’t like the idea that adults can make up there own mind on subjects like sex and wants his view of the world made into law.
The weather right now in the Kuta area is overcast and warm.
Looking at the stats I can see how they can be a bit decieving. Bali is a small island and you would think the temperature listed would be good for the whole island. Wrong. Go anywhere on the coast where there’s a breeze and it won’t feel like its 94f. Take a ride for 2 hours north and all of a sudden you might be reaching for a light jacket, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Even with these tropical temperatures there are variations and you can feel comfortable here even if you don’t like steamy conditions.

to worry about.Isn’t prostitution illegal too? Hasn’t reached Sanur yet.
I wouldn’t say I’m worried that Islamic fundamentalism is going to sweep through Indonesia any time soon, I just don’t like idiots in places of responsibility. Just look around the world to see the damamge they can do.

I read those pieces about the sex question in two papers here in the very free and open Holland and I sent them to my boyfriend JB. There was a very funny sentence in one of them, of how it wasn’t clear yet how they would ‘check’ if a couple performed oral sex or not. In 2003, you’d think that people were free to do what they want in the privacy of their own bedroom, not?

I only live in Holland, I am not dutch myself! I just meant that for the people here, it is very hard to understand that you are not free to do what you want in your own bedroom. I could see for myself this summer how in Lombok the Islam is everywhere and is moving up at great speed. You only have to look at the amount of mosques they are building there.
