Australian model Michelle Leslie may soon be freed in Bali. Her trial was a couple of weeks ago and the prosecutors have now decided not to ask for a long prison sentence. I don't know how these guys come up with their decisions, but in Bali they have their own way of measuring guilt, its called money.
To be honest I reckon she got together with her pary friends and bought a couple of 'scoobie snacks' for later. They were then all searched and when the drugs were found, she gave the old 'I have no idea what these pills are' routine. I would probably do the same. The prosecutors reasoning makes absolutely no sense to me, as does the entire scale of punishment in the Indonesian justice system. "The ecstasy wasn't consumed," Chief prosecutor Risman Tarihoran said. "She is only a user. She only received the drugs." Wait a minute, I thought poccession warranted a 15 year sentence. The drugs weren’t consumed, they were in her poccession. Right? I thought she had to convince them that she was almost an addict to get the 3 month deal, not just a casual partier.
It would be interesting to know how much cashola passed under the table on this one. Any after the 3 month sentence is handed out, Michelle will likely be heading home very soon, which is a good thing. Kerobokan jail is only big enough for 1 model at a time.

dear nick
i was wondering if you knew why Michelle Leslie wore a head-scarf during her trial. was that to get sympathy? or is she muslim?
thank you
Who agrees that Tony should be banished from this site??
Apart from having too much to say about everything he is a sick poopusher.
Do us all a favour and go to a gay chatroom
and leave this site for those who use it properly.
I beleive when you in a position like Michelle is in u do what u think is best to save your ass. If it means wearing a head scarf so be it.(Muslim)
If it means pushing cash under the table, good thing for her she had it.
Too bad for Corby.
Smithy-he is bound to go away, once he finishes high school & gets a life. Try reading, who wrote the comment first, then you can choose to automatically ignore/delete his unnecessary, uninteresting and repetitive comments. Works for me!
Smithy, I have to disagree with you about Tony. We should never ban anyone from speaking out even if we abhor what he says. Besides it will never work since he can always return with a new name.
Cathleen, he is not going away, so you’d better get used to him or ignore him just like you suggested.
Tony, your last comment about Leslie and Corby made sense. The only problem is that you tend to attack people rather than ideas. And, please don’t keep telling us about your homosexuality. This is not a place to look for sexual partners.
It looks like someone has just deleted Tony’s last comment.
I am a strong believer that Tony should not be banished from this blog. He can be idiotic a lot of times, but he does have good valid points sometimes.
A temporary suspension would be better. If anyone PERSISTENTLY writes comments that attack people’s characters then he or she can be suspended for several days. The rule is that you can attack ideas but not people.
Well, I’m into Bali and have tried to participate in this blog but it seems like 90% of it is unrelated to my interests so for the time being, count me out.
Just read it on the Jakarta Post. It makes no sense to me, she knew nothing about the pills that her lawyer now says is medicine? And the state prosecutor is the one that comes out and ask for her freedom (kind of)?! Dam, that’s a twisted legal system!
But hey, 15 years for two lousy pills would be more dramatic.
By the way, have a nice vacation Nick (if you can call it that).
You are all disgusting me, you scream out loud when Corby got a severe sentence. Now you protest again when Leslie is freed. What do you want anyway? Nick, didn’t you protest when Leslie was said to have 15 years?
fucking bitch
