While checking e_mail today at Global Xtreme in Kerobokan I recieved a call from James from Hawaii who has just got to town with a friend Chris.
He had contacted through the blog and we arranged to meet at Internet Outpost on Poppies II in Kuta.
I gave directions and was there before our agreed time of 12 noon. As the time wore on I was begining to wonder if I should of ridden to the hotel instead.
Finally James and Chris arrived sweating and tired. They were good vibes and I bought them a beer for their trouble.
Chris is James’s brother in law from Noosa Australia and the guys are over here for 12 days. Their wives allowed them this adventure here and so far they’ve been surfing the beach break in Kuta. I suggested getting their own transport and checking out the west and east coast.
James wants to go out sometime if he can stay awake till 11pm when things start happening.
We went to Kori restaurant on Poppies II and James kindly bought me a sandwich. For the recored Kori is probably the best restaurant on Poppies II and features western and some Indonesian dishes.
For lunch the guys had a beer to start, I had a watermelon juice. James ordered a chicken curry and Chris had nasi goreng. I had a grilled veggie sandwich which contained lettuce, eggplant, avocado, onion, tomato and came with fries. It was delicious.
The decor inside is classy with a tradtional Balinese roof and western style bar with ponds next to the tables. The narrow entrance way blocks the chaos of the street nicely.
My meal was around 35,000rp which isn’t overly expensive, though you can find cheaper for a less relaxing place.

I sms’d Ebong in Jimbaran and Jason in Canggu for local surfing buddies and got 2 positive responces. I hope we can help James and Chris make the most of their time here. I’m sure Josh will join them in the water when he gets back from Sumbawa.

Joanne,
Chris is on vacation for a few weeks - he;ll be back at work next week. Someone else may be working on your article - but I am not sure…Chris will let you know for sure by next week sometime.
Cheers
G’day Chris,
Still wondering about “The Grass is Always Greener Blues.”
