Merry Christmas from Seminyak Bali

Its Christmas Day in Bali, in case you forgot. Right now I am in my room, the fan is whiring, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. What other people are doing I haven’t a clue.

This morning I strolled down Jl. Seminyak to Cafe Seminyak, saying hello, wishing people Merry Christmas and shocking them with my electric chewing gum. They seemed to appreciate it and it brought a spark to their day.

Ika and I are going up to Dreamland later in the day, and I am jamming out articles faster than benchong can say “Hiiiiiiii.” Today a freind of mine in Java sms’s Merry Christmas. There are probably 60 million Christians in Indonesia and many people will be celebrating today. Indonesia recognises 5 religions, Islam, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Catholic. The major calendar events for each are national holidays in Indonesia, although all the shops are open. Yesterday at Bali Deli it was a feeding frenzy, with all the posers from Europe cutting in front of other people like they were invisible.

To all Baliblog readers I’d like to say Merry Christmas and may your day be special.
