Yenni from Jakarta contacted me through Baliblog and stayed for a night with us. Yenni works in advertising handling some big clients and has been reading Baliblog for a while. She is in Bali for a few days with some lady friends who are participating in a 3 on 3 Crushbone basketball match in Denpasar on Saturday May 7th. I had never heard of that sport before but it seems to me the chain-link fence and wassup-attitude are the main differences between that and regular basketball. Yenni is around 5 feet 9inches so should dominate here in Indonesia. Yenni learned to play basketball in college in Java and had followed it ever since.
After guiding her taxi off of Jl. Seminyak to my house we all went to Warung Baku Dapa for some Indonesian food and then strolled over to JPs Warung for dessert and a drink. JPs has live music 7 nights a week and while were there a sextet (5 male musicians and a female singer) played some Latin tunes and some Eagles. I am lucky having Jl. Dhyana Pura on my doorstep. Any time I have guests we can go around the corner for food and entertainment with out planning and not even have to call a taxi.
By the time we returned home at around 10pm the party scene had still not kicked into gear and that is because the Seminyak night scene in notoriously late in starting.
I might get to see Yenni play on Saturday.
