After a long wait Angie and myself actually got ourselves over to Tuban to visit Tracey and Dedes (Gede) relatives.
(I typed this article out once but its not on my memory stick here in Kuta…boo hoo, just have to type it all over again).
I met Angie at her guest house, Poppies Inn on Poppies Lane II and we rode over to the house off of Jl. Raya Tuban where Tracey and Dede’s wedding was held several months ago. The trip took about 10 minutes accounting for the roadworks and traffic here in Kuta.
Arriving at the house it really looked different from my previous visit, no wedding party or decorations this time. It was actually amazing they squeezed so many people in there.
At home were Dede’s mother who I remember from the wedding and Juni who I also remember as she sat next to me during a part of the ceremony. Juni is Dede’s sister in law and has a 2 month old daughter Sastra.
Sastra weighed 2.5 kilos at birth and is now up to 5 kilos. She seems a good baby and eyed the Sprites Angie and I were sipping.
Ibu Dede showed us her photos albums and I’m actually in a couple of shots! It seems like yesterday that Tracey was smiling in the face of pain ( a 2 kilo headress held in place by pins in her head).
Angie tried to explain that she was a friend of Tracey…but they had never met, an difficult thing to get across to a Balinese.
No one else was around so after thanking Ibu and Juni for having us over we zoomed off to the Cabana bar on Pantai Kuta for some arak. Angie was gagging for a drink and man can she drink!
If I get the time I might take my laptop over and show them my wedding pics. It was great to make contact with them again and I’m sure I’ll stay in contact.

Tracey, must be great to see the family, even if it is on the blog and not in person.I bet their was a few tears when you saw the photo’s. Hope all is going well with Gede and his job hunting.

Cannot explain how happy I am to come in to work this morning & see photo’s of Mum, she looks happy which is good & of course my gorgeous little niece Sastra & sister in law. I am jealous….Angie you got to hold my little Angel before I have had a chance to cuddle with her!!!! I bet they were happy to see you & loved the pic’s of Maddison i am sure. Cannot tell you how much I really appreciate it! Love, Hugs & kisses to you both… We will meet when you return Angie, for a drink!!!!!

Dede spoke to his Mum last night & told her to stop wearing his T-shirt! He was just teasing her & they are all excited to see the pic’s on the internet.
Pedro will arrive on the 7th, so no doubt he will get in touch before he comes over. He will hang out at the house a bit I guess, but staying at Barong again, so keep an eye out for him!
I printed the pic’s for Dede so we now have Baby Sastra on the fridge, she is so gorgeous, I want to get there & cuddle her!!!!
