I am back in Bali and it feels fantastic! Warm weather but not at all hot a sticky, cool nights and mornings with fresh air.
After getting my house keys from Mick Turnbull’s housekeeper Wayan I went to Global Xtreme in Kerobokan and caught up with mail.
It was Saturday night and I figured I’d maybe catch a soccer match after visiting my friends at Internet Outpost. I wove my way down Jalan Legian through cars and motorcycles and parked outside the internet cafe. Walking in I saw a member of staff I knew and as I turned around I saw an Indian looking lady asking the desk person for Nick. He pointed to me and the lady said “Hi I’m Sharmila.”
Sharmila e-mailed me in Bangkok and I had hoped to get together with her, this was amazing timing. We jumped on my motorbike and zoomed up to Jalan Dhyana Pura. Time was around 10pm and it was just beginning to warm up. We sat in Santa Fe bar and chatted asbout world travel and her trip.
Sharmila is from Nepal originally, grew up in Florida, lives in LA and is now heading back to Nepal for several months.
At around 10.50pm Sharmila said she was hungry so we rode over to Made’s Warung on Jalan Seminyak. I had already eaten ( at Warung Indonesia close to Ronta Bungalows, very good! ) so settled for a cheese cake, Sharmila had fried rice I think.
Made’s Warung is quite a happening place at night and they have new menus, same food though.
I was very glad to quickly get back into the swing of riding the bike, meeting people and dealing with online stuff. I dropped Sharmila back at her place around midnight and rode home. We arranged to go to Ulu Watu and I will tell you all about that next.

Nick,
Have you heard anymore about this ferry that sunk between Bali & Lombok?.
I heard a brief mention of it on the ABC radio late yesterday afternoon, and, in the Australian newspaper this morning it only warranted 5 lines.
Surprising considering there are 6 people dead and scores missing.
Dear all, thanks for the warm welcome. I really felt great coming home to Bali and realose once more how lucky I am to be here.
Ika we were taling about you yesterday at IO. Would be great to hear more about how you are doing on the cruise ship. Hope the sarongs are selling well.
Nobody here in Kuta knows about the ferry. Here’s a link I found on Google.
