Meeting Peter from Slovenia
Sunday morning I met Peter from Slovenia. We sat in JP’s Warung on Jl. Dhyana Pura in Seminyak and drank a a beer. Peter has seemingly the ideal lifestyle. A ski instructor in Aspen Colorado, the place where he says enjoys the best snow conditions in the world.
He works for 5 months teaching the rich and famous, then is free to do some traveling. Peter old me he loves Ubud and would prefer to stay there. We agreed that Ubud really does have a special things about it, especially the quiet of the evening and the beauty and uniqueness of the landscape.
I did a mini interview using my recorder, but accidentally pushed the Stop button with my thumb. So we only got he first 10 seconds. Peter told me that in all his travels around the world he never found a place like Bali. The combination of culture, arts, religion being the major draws. He says he has been to every temple in the Ubud area and has a 1,000 photos of ceremonies.

Funny, I taught snowboarding in Aspen for 7 years,and still live here, and when in Bali I ran into people from Aspen and Vail. I think I even know peter. Yes the snow is pretty much the best in the world, well Utah is pretty good as well. But I’d rather be surfing in Bali! If only it wasn’t so freaking far away.
