Meeting Pete Day

Many months ago when we were planning this Bali adventure, BootsnAll member Pete Day contacted us and told us he would be in Bali and would like to meet. Pete is from Yorkshire, England and is out here in Asia enjoying the weather and considering what his options are for the future.

We finally got to meet him at Internet Outpost and arranged to met for dinner later this evening. We ended up at Captain Haddock, a hole in the wall place along Poppies I. It lashed down as we shared beers and chatted about travel and other stuff.

Pete told us he’s interested in living on an alternative community. There are a ton of these across the US and Europe.

My Indonesian could do with a lot of help and Pete gave me his phrase book, a more accurate tool than my notebook.

It was funny heading back along Poppies II as there was about 6 inches of water in the street and Pete had to go barefoot to protect his shoes.

We’ll meet him again tomorrow.
