Meeting people here in Kuta Bali

Kuta Bali has interesting people rolling in an out of town and I am lucky enough to meet a lot of them.

Last night I met up with with Neil Berrecloth from London again. We strolled on down to Warung 96 on Janan Benesari and Neil went for the nasi goreng. The place was pumping, what a great business! People just roll in and out and it would have to be the place Leonardo DiCaprio would be drinking his beer after arriving in Kuta for The Beach II.

Neil and I walked down Jalan Legian and sipped another beer or 2 in a roadside place. It had a band set up but they hadn’t arrived yet.

After another 45 minutes we walked up Jl. Legian to a new bar called Double D. Komand Armadi works there and I have been there before. This place is cleverly designed. Very open and clean looking, it has a tv with sports, food, bright and shiny servers in new uniforms and is open 24 hours.

Neil and I watched the Liverpool vs. Chelsea game along with a mess of other British folks.

One of the bartenders was a very ‘on the ball’ albino who strolled around like a sergeant major asking if we wanted another drink.

I left at around 2am while Neil prefered to hang out for one more.

Today I got an e-mail from Zoe a poster on Baliblog who I will meet for lunch in Sanur tomorrow. Looking forward to that.

Here in Internet Outpost this evening I ran into Adam from AJ Hackett bungy. AJ the Man is in town and I want to meet him. He has been super busy until now and I’m hoping in the next couple of days to shake his hand and chuck myself off his tower.

Here at Internet Outpost its 11.40pm and there are still a dozen customers.
