May 28th in Kuta Bali

I went to cafe Moka this morning and ran into my French friend Patrice, the guy who is anti everything modern.

His wife is expecting his 5th kid, it will be a boy and he was hoping for a girl as he has 4 boys already.

One task I had on my To Do list was buy some new deodorant. My last ran out a couple of days ago and let me tell you not having it here just doesn’t work.

I went to Bintang supermarket on Jl. Seminyak and got a stick then rode to Legian Paradiso hotel to do a report for our guide. The sales lady Fifi was very pleasant and showed me around. I was doubly thankful now that I purchased the Axe stick.

Around 2pm I broke for lunch and hit a small warung on the corner of Poppies II and Benesari. I ordered Cap Cay ( Chap Chay ) which is steamed veg and a nasi puti, steamed rice. It was good and I like to imagine the red chilis burning away the germs in my system.

Will visit a hotel on Pantai Kuta soon.

Nick,

Chap chay is chinesse food. Originally means Ten (Chap) and vegetable (chay or tjay). But these days we are lucky to have 5 out of 10 kinds of vegetables in there.

G’Day Nick,

Great idea of yours doing the hotels and giving us a great insight. Will you be doing some of the ‘less expensive’ places for the budget travellers?.

You could say that your friend Patrice is anti-establishmentarianistic!. Love that word!.

Yes a friend of mine told me the same ting about cap cay last night. Still the one I ate was good. With rice and watermelon juice it was 12,000rp ( $1.35).

Jasmine. That’s a good question. I rode out to Canggu and phoned to get Jason’s exact location but everyone was either surfing or left their phone at home. Marcel picked up Jason’s cell phone and told me he had no idea where the house was, strange as he was there at the time. Anyway, I went back to Seminyak after getting eaten alive by mosquitoes in the dark waiting for a call back from my sms.

Will make the next one.

It is on my desktop at work and looks good. Eating my heart out for November.
It is our normal lunch in Bali followed by a mango for after the post luncheon sleep and then a massage and a swim in the sea and then up to the room for shower then retail therapy and then early dinner around 6pm and then back to the hotel for a few duty frees and read the trashy books and social drinks with the staff. Not counting the 2-3 pre lunch bintang and the 2 pre dinner bintang and the wot the hell bintangs back at the hotel.
A totally relaxed holiday.
Can’t wait until november
Did I mention the mango’s!! BTW this all takes place at Besakih in Sanur

cheers
juliette
