Life sentence request for 3 more Bali Nine traffickers

Matthew Norman, 19, Si Yi Chen, 20, and Tac Duc Thanh Nguyen, 23, appeared at the District Court in Denpasar today. Each were told that prosecutors were requesting life inprisonment if they were convicted of attempting to traffic heroin.

Myuran Sukumaran has already been told the death sentence will be his likely sentence if found guilty. Fellow kingpin Andrew Chan appears tommorrow. I guess that about wraps up the sentence demands, as can guess the remaining ones. I thought there might of been an outside chance that Nguyen might get death too, because some sources said he was involved in the financing.

some sources said….fact is they are all lying and
to be honest: I would rather get the death sentence then spending the rest of my life in a bali crackhouse/jail …

JJ I hear you. To get locked up with a bunch of crackhouse crackers, in a Bali crackhouse jail, would be worse than eating cold nasi goreng.

It will be interesting to see whether the judges give the sentences being requested or give lesser determinate sentences.
hopefully they will.

i dont know what is worse, for me i would be glad being dead then in a bali jail……
but then again… i hear they have visiters every day, they even had a nice little cristmas party with family and presents… (u dont see that here in the Netherlands, where the prison is really a hotel compared to bali or any other asian jail..

Yeah can’t be that bad there as Corby does not want a transfer. Would lose her celebrity status and fears she would be worked over by some dyke or bulldog in a NSW crackhouse (smh online). By the way she does not want visitors unless you can give her some postive media spin. Somehow I can’t see her campaigning for the legalization of pot either when she is let out eventually..

The ringleaders will be given the death penalty and although Australia may make some gestures the likes of Howard won’t be too sad to see them permanently put away by a bullet or three..

The death sentence or life imprisonment for these 9 young people will have absolutely no impact on the drug trade whatsoever. There will be plenty more vulnerable and gullible young people to take their place.

What we should be looking at is how governments around the world have a hand in supporting countries that cultivate opium.
