Leaving Seminyak in a Bluebird taxi

Sean left Bali yesterday afternoon to fly out to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific. My house in Seminyak is about 25 minutes from the airport and there are a number of routes you can take. Taxi drivers often prefer to take surface streets through local areas which is the shortest way according to actual mileage. My preferred route is to jump on the Sunset Rd and take the Bypass all the way down to Jl. Ngurah Rai.

I called Bluebird taxi on my cell phone and ordered a cab to come down my gang to the meet me in the alley. What I probably should have done was grab a cab from Jl. Seminyak a short walk away and brought it back to the house. The cab took 30 minutes to arrive and when it finally did the driver said You no try get other taxi after calling for me. He saw me waiting on the main street for him after I had called his dispatcher again. Listen Pal, I said, you are very late getting here so do not play that game with me.

Things worked out and Sean got to the airport in plenty of time and reasonably cool. Bluebird is a handy number to keep in your cell phone while you are here.

Mick,

Missed you in Bali this time bigtime. It is not the same without you. Flew Cathay from US to Bali and into Delhi yesterday for the first time. A bit better than China Air. Haha.

Till next time,
