Latest tourist visa news in Bali

The Indonesian government has a unique way of dealing with the downturn in tourism since the Bali bombing…to make it harder for tourists to come here by changing the visa regulations.

I don’t know what school of business the people in charge went to but they actually are competing with the terrorists in who can do the most damage to the economy.

The changes to the tourist visa haven’t been implemented yet and here is an article outlining the latest murmurs from Jakarta.

I’m Indonesia nationality but rather to have holiday in another country end of this year. Is not because I don’t miss my country. It’s just I feel rediculous with this new stupid rules decide by idiot president. Why do I have to pay visa for my wife, 2 son, and parent cause they are Japanese Nationality, only for holiday to my own country. As you said “what school of bussines this people went to.???!!

Hi,

does anyone have an update (it’s now December) on the situation with the tourist visa for Indonesia?

Unfortunately, it will affect my decision to travel there or not. What ever the reasons for introducing the paid visa, I’m sure that there are other ways to achieve the same result (unless the reason is to raise money).

Thanks

marc,

I would not stress it…I just got in 2 days ago - 60 days for free. There has been a lot of talk and no action on this changing visa stuff. Talk is cheap. No stress until it changes (if it ever does)

Does anyone out there have any clear information about implementation date and cost. Hearsay indicated that it may be sometime in February 2004.
