Ika and I went to the Kuta Puri restaurant for dinner on Monday night which is located about 20 meters from Jl. Pantai Kuta on Poppies Lane I. Kuta Puri is also a hotel and the road-side bar restaurant services guests and passersby.

Ika had an avocado lasse, her favourite and myself a couple of glasses of red wine, for 21,000rp. The wine was not bad and Ika said her avocado lassi was nice.
We ordered a mixed vegetable salad for 7,500rp which included lettuce, cucumber, tomato, avocado, onion and a mayonnaise / vinegar dressing.
Our main course, neither of us very hungry, was a Sicilian pizza for 17,000rp which included tomato, garlic, zucchini, onions, black olives and parmesan cheese.
It was served at about 3000 degrees C and after a close encounter I managed to get some of it into my mouth without disfigurement. Not bad actually and pretty good value.
I think this place offers a decent selection of food, with steak, seafood, Mexican, Indonesian, Indian, burgers and Italian, which seems to be pretty good, I have eaten here once before.
The wine was not dish water and they actually forgot to charge me for a glass!
While we were there the place had about 6 other customers. The only negative was the exhaust from the generator. We are having power outages right no and some places resort to a generator. I felt like I was eating a pizza behind a Pariwisata bus. Like some diesel with your meal Sir? The Balinese really know how to create a beautiful culture and how to wreck it in one go. I think if the air quality had been different I could recommend this place more enthusiastically. It is right on Poppies Lane I, which means easy access and proximity to all that traffic. Take your pick, you will either love it of hate it.
Today we had a massive downpour, just what the island needs. Sunday night Seminyak had a power outage, this evening parts of Kuta.
My rain poncho saved the day Sunday afternoon while Ika and I were exploring the Bukit by motorbike. Coming up the hill from Dreamland after a big strm we ran into a huge puddle of brown water that had collected at the bottom of one of those massive hills. We got stuck in the mud about a foot deep in water. I was worried the bike would stall and we could not start it again. Turning the engine off we both lifted the bike out of the water and up the foot high curb face. Ika liked the adventure and seemed a good person to have along in wet conditions, a soaking not bothering her.
