Kuta Karnival and tourism in Bali

The Kuta Karnival is in progress with events all over the place. Today for example there is exhibition boxing down at the Discovery on Jalan Kartika Plaza. This is being promoted by the WBA who are having a convention here. Starts 10pm.

Events planned for Friday 25th are Oktoberfest also at the Discovery (7pm), Beach 7 a side soccer on Pantai Kuta (4pm ) and World Fusion Music at Gracie Kelly, Dynasty Kuta ( 8.30pm).

If you can’t make the beach soccer tommorrow don’t worry it goes on for 3 days, Oktoberfest for 2 days total.

Checked out the tourist scene today in 3 places. The first was Taman Sari on Poppies II where Putra and Iloo were in their usual good spirits. Putra is having his teeth filed next week and since he has a girlfriend now he’s on the path to marriage. Business is down here although evenings are good.

I ate a club sandwich at Warung 96 which had �the works’ thrown in for 12,000rp. It came with fries too. This place is still rocking at night with fresh faces figuring out its where the other travelers / surfers like to congregate. The middle of the afternoon isn’t so busy and staff have a chance to talk.

Down on the shopping strip of Kuta Square people were out snapping up bargains and copies of famous labels.

I had a funny moment this morning which would be great to have on video. I recently bought a new jug of water for my dispenser on the counter at home. It hasn’t been full for a couple of weeks and after heaving the new jug onto the dispenser I tasted the water and it wasn’t quite right. There was a slight fungus taste and I knew I had to remove the jug and clean out the dispenser. I did a �1 ,2,3 go’ and heaved the jug in the air trying to flip it over to avoid water loss. It jumped out of my hands onto the floor and landed sideways, the dispenser ended up in my arms with water going everywhere.

I still managed to save half the water in the jug and now after a scrub we’re back in business.

Tracey I swung by the leather shop looking for Gede at around 7pm but the place was shut. Will try again now I know where it is.
