Ku De Ta movie nights in Seminyak Bali

Many places in Bali shows pirated DVD's in order to attract an audience. It makes sense, you pick up a copy of the latest movie and advertise it outside your place as if its an event. You'll see this all over Kuta and the tourists love it. I have seen a few flicks this way while eating my dinner.

It occurred to me a long while ago that there are a lot of old movies that people would love to see but that don't get played. Ku De Ta, the beachside restaurant / lounge bar in Seminyak has started a Tuesday night movie series and this week its Casablanca staring Bogart and Bergman.

There has already been a showing on September 6th and will be 3 more on the 13th, 20th, 27th. The type of films shown range from romance, drama and comedy. Showtime is 11pm. This Tuesday will feature Casablanca (1942) plus a short film Ray, which is 9.5 minutes long. The following week they are showing Diamonds Are Forever (1971). Maybe I'll check it out!
