Tuesday afternoon I went to Kerobokan jail as there was supposed to be a protest demonstration. The Bali bombers, Amrozi, Samudra and co were supposed to be executed already and the Balinese are angry, especially after Bomb II. A local restaurant owner told me the other day "We're sick of this, execute them now." There is always a lot of misinformation flying around and people told me different times for the demonstration, 9am, 10am, and 4pm. I was also expecting action outside the jail relating to the Bali Nine trial which is starting this week. Outside the jail at around 10am I saw many police and after about 2 minutes a large prison van came out. I later found out that Amrozi, Samudra and other terrorists, were being moved to Nusa Kambangan prison close to Jakarta for their safety.
Balinese people will be upset at that move and will look to the government to implement the sentence. There was a demonstration at the Denpasar High Court on Monday and the recent bombs in Kuta and Jimbaran have stirred up people's feelings. I do not detect any anti-Muslim sentiments though and today received one of those mass sms mailings written by an Indonesia saying all killing is murder and we should not blame, its better to forgive.

The day Amrosi ect were transfered was hectic with tankers and armed police lined along the street.
did you end up finding out that the protest was for the 12th october at 4 in the afternoon??? Most people I know recieved a text message with the details and times of the protest so there was no confusion.
