Kerobokan jail: A better cast than Neighbours

Kerobokan jail is becoming a virtual sit com. In the last 2 weeks Amrozi, Muklas and Samudra, the Bali Bombers, have been transferred, Schapelle Corby has had her sentence reduced to 15 years, the Bali Nine have all visited court and Michelle Leslie has moved in. I'm feeling like I should take my bbq in and throw a 'Support Kerobokan jail' party.

Long term resident Schapelle Corby seems to have a good attitude although the unhygienic conditions aren't doing her skin any good. Will model Michelle Leslie have the staying power of Schapelle and is there something in her handbag that will block out Schapelle's blotches?

According to a Sydney Morning Herald article, one of the people arrested with Leslie has already been sentenced and released, and he had more drugs then her. One would think this makes her the most likely of all those mentioned, to earn her freedom the soonest.

The Bali Nine trial is a trip. Four of them were found at the airport with drugs strapped to them. Open and shut case. But the rest, including 2 in particular Andrew Chan and Sukamaran have enough of their dirty paws all over the deal to be called 'kingpins'. In the US the kingpins are the ones the cops go after and with phone records, observations, passport records and testimony they aren't fooling anyone. Amazingly some people connected with Indonesian law have said they might get away scot free, due to no evidence being found on them. Let me tell you something. You do not have to be lugging 40kgs of smack to be involved in 'conspiracy to traffic narcotics'.

I think it is too optimistic to think that the death penalty will be carried out soon. Even in the US it can take up to 15 years and more to exust the appeal system, which used to piss me off no end as a death penalty advocate. But now in light of DNA science showing that maybe we executed the wrong people i am reflecting on the long proces of appeals because as much as I hate to feed death row inmates for years I think we need to get it right when we take someone’s life in the pursuit of JUSTICE FOR ALL.

Hows this for a plot line - Whilst exercising near Kerobokan Coffee Shop, Renae overhears two prison guards talking about how Michelle s Evil twin sister, who was thought to have died at birth, was responsible for planting the pills in Michelles bag. The evil twin sisters along with her prison guard half brothers, run an empire of sweat shops producing an inferior Antz Pantz underwear label called Bali Bums, where sales have increasing declined over the past year. Having witnessed the success of Michelle, the evil other half jealously became the better of her and she vengefully plotted to have Michelle put away for good.
