JED and the future of Bali tourism

The future of Bali tourism. That’s the $64,000 question and you get a different answer depending on who you talk to. Some people say Bali is finished, others that Bali is changing to a more luxury oriented place. The folks at JED feel that a personal, low impact, people friendly and nature friendly tour is the way to go. Gin and I discussed what other people had said about deforestation, rampant building, pollution of rivers and habitat destruction.

The Balinese locals, aided by tourism cash are their own worst enemies and hopefully JED and its philosophy can lead them into a more sustainable AND desirable future. Gin talks about the future of Bali tourism.
