Cricket is not not something that you might associate with Bali and Indonesia in general. The expats living in Jakarta and Bali have been spreading the word and locals have been getting their heads around a ‘googly’ and ‘silly mid off’.

Two games were played this Saturday at the Ceylon Cricket Ground, Cibubur and the boys from Java were victorious. West Java has a number of cricket clubs whereas the Bali cricket scene in largely centered around the Bali Cricket Club in Sanur. There are also cricket clubs in Jimbaran, Sidakarya, Sanur and Gianyar.

Although Java won the first game by 7 wickets and the second game by 35 runs, one Balinese player named Adi scored 59 in the second game. Well done Adi and congratulations Java.
