Island Sportz: The local sports magazine in Bali

cover.jpgIsland Sportz is a free magazine that comes out monthly. The big format magazine features articles about sporting events in Bali and around Indonesia.

In the April 2005 editions are articles on the development of Panaitan Island, which is a World Heritage listed park. Also is an article about Fendrik Alam, one of Indonesias best prospects in the sport of motorcycle racing and an article about the Masters of Australian Football competition that took place in Bali recently. The magazine is loaded with ads for Rip Curl, Surfer Girl, Billabong etc. and that is what you would expect seeing how strong the surfing presence is in Bali.

There really are a ton of sporting things to watch and participate in when visiting Bali and Island Sportz helps to point them out. Among the sports mentioned for participation are surfing, sailing, diving, ATV driving, windsurfing, pool, tennis, lawn bowls, fishing, spear fishing, cricket, workout.

There are also results of local sports leagues and many useful companies advertising. There is a Yellow Pages in the back. You can pick up a copy at many of the cafes and restaurant around town.

G’Day Nick,

Do we get to see a foto of you bungy-jumping gracing the cover of this magazine in the not too distant future???
