Indonesian Travel warning against Sydney

Its a funny old world we live in. One minute governments are handing out travel warnings agianst Indonesia, the next Indonesia is handing them back.

The recent racially motivated riots in Cronulla, a beach community in Sydney, have given rise to travel warnings being issued by Indonesia, Britain and Canada.

Back in 1993 I went down down to Cronulla for an afternoon of body surfing and splashing around. I thought Cronulla was a neat little town and its amazing that race riots would happen here. I wonder how safe an Australian of Mediterreanean decent would feel strolling thorugh Crunulla right now. Would that same person feel more or less safe in Bali? I’m crossing my fingers there will be no more violence either in Sydney or Bali, and that normal people can get back to what they’re doing.

Are you seriously comparing what happened in Cronulla with people being blown to pieces in Bali? More damage and assaults were carried out by Middle Easterners than Anglos during the day of the riot.

The Indonesian government looks pretty stupid trying to play tit for tat with anyone. How many Indonesians have been blown up by Australians in Sydney? But what can be expected from the bunch of morons running things in Jakarta?
