Here are 3 news items from Indonesia today.

» The avian bird flu has killed another person in Jakarta, this time a 25 year old woman. Tourists should not worry too much about contracting the virus as it usually is only people who live in extreme close proximity to the infected bird who become infected.

» Indonesia’s national oil company, Pertamina, will share joint control of the large and untapped Cepu oilfield with Exxon. Indonesia has a massive oil importing problem which stems from over consumption at a subsidized price and the rising world cost of oil.

» Indonesian navy make pirated waters less dangerous. Indonesia has the most dangerous waters in the world as far as piracy.
