In response to Australia giving the 42 Papuans a 3 year visa, Indonesia has recalled its Ambassador from Canberra. A lot of this kind of stuff is posturing and its kind of disappointing when you realize that even at government level, when you break it down, people still act like little kids. I’m talking about every country. You stole my lollipop, so I’m taking my bat back.
What effect will this have on Bali? Who knows. Hopefully it won’t affect VOA (Visa On Arrival) status for Australians. If it does, then there really are idiots in charge.

Hi Nick this is good wake up call for the government of indonesia as indonesia heading in a wrong direction with their democracy they want Syariah law to be implemented in the country that does not go hand in hand with democracy you can not call you country a democracy with syariah law in it cause syariah law you need syariah police to oversee day to day issue just like in iran and saudi arabia to arrest people if their wearing not according to syariah , i’ am with the australian goverment this time SBY knows this coming and a lot of NGO in australia support papua become independence you have to remember australia only do thing what good for australia not the other way around indonesia has been put on notice.indonesia is poor and corupt country and the goverment should stick to fixing those two issue intead of trying to implenting and accomodating muslim extremist with their syariah law even Gusdur does not agree with the syariah after all he is muslim scholar and know all about islam .
The Indonesian Government is behaving childishly because they didn’t get what they wanted. After all the Australian tax dollars Howard committed to their tsunami disaster. Personally I wish Australia had leaders with guts about them and then finally maybe someone will call the US and invade Indonesia and end the threat once and for all.
Howard and Downer are wimps. It seems that if you are white you get long jail terms and if you are a moslem indonesian who orchestrates the blowing up of Balinese, Europeans and Australians you get hardly any jail term which is then reduced during ramadan and other moslem holidays.
I can honestly say that the war that will eventually occur between Australia (and the US) and Indonesia will be the result of both countries people getting fed up with each other.
