Indonesia and Australia are neighbors and since the E.Timor incident a few years ago, have started to work together again. Among the issues at hand are the Bali Nine, Schapelle Corby, the Papuan asylum seekers and counter terrorism.

Australian foreign minister Alexander Downer will be a keynote speaker at a counter-terrorism conference in Jakarta. The above issues will be discussed, with AFP (Australian Federal Police head honcho, Mick Keelty in attendance. The 43 Papuan asylum seekers claim there have been human rights abuses in Papua, relating to their independent movement, what’s new. Indonesia has welcomed the visit of an Australian monitoring group to Papua would be welcome.

Issue’s.. Indonesia doesn’t mind taking the hundreds of millions over the last few years for customs, security and forensic training. Where is the money gone? Customs didn’t wear gloves for The corby case or do any forensic testing. MOre bombs in Bali last year. Australian tax money for Indonesia but Indonesia does not do any favors for Australia.
