How many people in Indonesia?

Reading stats on Indonesia is interesting. The country is 3,200 miles long, contains over 17,000 islands and has 100 active volcanoes.

Someone once told me that Balinese culture represents the landscape. When you see a beautiful Balinese woman wearing a sarong, walking across a a rice paddy wall, with mountains in the background, remember we are on a fault zone with volcanoes that could explode at any moment. That is Indonesia, physically and socially.

There are around 240 million people in Indonesia.

It’s amazing how it stays together as one nation.

I think I read some where that during the height of the last ice age while the sea levels dropped, Indonesia was actually a few giant Islands with a tip of Australia almost touching one of them.

Surly during that time Java and Bali were connected.
