The time has arrived, my backpack is full, I have my tickets and, I am outa here! After spending the winter in Australia enjoying my usual hiking and camping activities, catching up with friends and rellies, I am heading back home to Indonesia tomorrow morning.
Candika was over here in Perth and enjoyed a post-Xmas spending spree and so it will be good to have some company on the flight. First stop will be an overnighter in Bali and then on to my beloved Yogyakarta and I am so looking forward to it. The culture is totally different to that of Bali and the city is renowned as being the cultural heart of Indonesia.
It will be a busy adventure-crammed two weeks there and then, a well-deserved rest in Bali for several months. I will be blogging daily from the island on the Baliblog as well as the Baliblog Forum. So, if you are in Bali over the next few months then it would be great to catch up with you for a chat and a cold one. As I always do, I will be staying at the Prawita Cottages in Kuta (opp. Aquarius Hotel).

Beautiful post on heading home to Indonesia. Have a lovely time Barrie!
I’m relatively new to your blog but a faithful reader. Your postings are informative and entertaining. My first and only visit to Bali was in September of 08 when I spent a month touring about the island. Your journals take me back to so many places that I passed through far too fast and many others that I never saw but intend on doing so upon my return this August. Really cool photos and it’s great following your adventures.

Around what time will you be going to the Prawita? I did send you an email to your hotmail?? Have a great trip and regards to Candika.
Oh this is just STUNNING, Barrie!!! I could have looked at a hundred photos. It feels SO alive there. The colors and uniqueness of life. Of course there is beauty all over the world and fascinating places and things to see, but here in America or even Canada everything has become so uniform and processed…even the look of…hmmm…EVERYTHING. It’s turned into a McWorld. Harder and harder to find an unbeaten path. So, to see this bursting colorful market with all the baskets of fresh food, and the colorfully painted store fronts, and the horse drawn cart just thrills me. One can see LIFE, and I just love that. That is a great photo of you. You look happy and peaceful.
Thank you for sharing this Barrie.
Hugs, Robin
