Tomorrow in Bali it is Nyepi. This is the day of absolute silence for Hindu followers. No activity is done on this day, or amusements of any kind. No fire is lit on this day and night and no travelling is allowed to anywhere. Nyepi is the day of fasting and self introspection for the Hindu Balinese throughout Bali.
Bali on this day is in totally silence. There are no flights in and out of Ngurah Rai International Airport or other transportation. Night-clubs, restaurants, shopping places and other business activities are closed.
Even the normally bustling tourist centre of Kuta falls silent on Nyepi. The streets are deserted of cars and no one except those working for the emergency services are allowed to circulate. To ensure this is adhered to, the pecalang, security services, patrol the streets.

Hi Berri i’ ve been following baliblog since Nick O’neil was in charge keep up the good work,in regard of nyepi isn it ironic that in the age of climate change, save the envourenment ,use less on everything ,hibryd cars the list goes on and on, balinesse people swiching off everyhing for hundred of years every year (celebrathing new year for all shake) unlike in the west or on every city on earth for that matter when the new year come their party using all the fire work and using all electricity and everything else.just a ponder. selamat nyepi to all my family in Bali.(no work, no fire no movement) i think the world should follow balinesse nyepi it may save the world?? for 48 hours atleast.
