It was Friday night and after getting into typing a big article I decided I should do something else than sit a a computer.
I walked fom our place to Jalan Seminyak and had a Indonesian meal of rice, chicken and bacon at BaleBali on Jalan Kunti.
I said to myself ‘let’s go for 1 beer’ on Dhyana Pura and strolled the few minutes it took to get there.
I sipped a mojito in honor of Jen Leo in Eugene at a nightclub / lounge bar and then moved down the road to Santa Fe. This place is a freewheeling compilation of a lot of things, Indonesians, expats and tourists. I chatted to an older guy from Belgium named Eve and was glad when a little fellow in his 50’s from NYC got up and left. This guy was shouting and screaming at his lady friend like he wanted to kill someone, maybe that’s just New York small talk.
Chatted to John from NZ who is in the watersport industry and also to a lady from Jakarta who told me she goes to the tourism school in Nusa Dua. We moved on to Spy Bar which was a pretty good time. There were a group of ladies from Taiwan who were celebrating a birthday, to which my friend whispered ‘they bring SARS’.
Saw a lady I had met a while ago with Miguel. I don’t usually stay out to late and can see that if you did you would get to know a whole little subculture in no time.
Anyway I got a taxi home at around 2.30am and am quite well this morning.
