Its Friday night in Kuta Bali and I am at guess where………..Internet Ouptost. Tourists from Australia, Europe and the US are around all giving their own particular energy and sounds.
Two Yanks were just getting all bent out of shape over the price of 5 minutes online, steady on guys it the price of stick of gum.
I have just posted my accomodation guide to Poppies I for those just arrived or those who will be. Feels so strange that Tracey is not on that list anymore.
One of the employees here, Lai from Medan Sumatra, took a verbal thrashing last night from an older customer from Europe. You know the kind….60 years old, skin like a saddle, 20 year old Indonesian girlfriend and acts like he’s Rockefeller. Poor Lai unplugged his laptop connection so a regular customer could use one of the rear machines and this guy went off in front of everyone….”Mister you better not treat me like that ever again, don’t even think of it.” I wanted to put the laptop over his head but watched from the sidelines.
Today I asked Lai where his ‘Teman’ ( friend ) was. When he didn’t understand I said ‘you know, the orang gila’ (crazy man ) and he cracked up.
Saw surf legend Paul Callahan tonight on Jalan Legian. I stopped, turned around and we caught up on latest events. Paul was heading to a party near Double Six.
The night is still young, plenty of e-mail to answer.

You on’t believe this but I just came from Pub Bagus after watching the first half of the SA vs. NZ game. I might of been sitting within 20 feet of you and didn’t know it.

I WANT TO LIVE HERE ,,, oh and NIck i SAW you lol
All this talk about laptops… I’m sitting here in Canada trying to decide if its a risk to bring my own. Going to HK in 5 days, there for 4, then to Bangkok for 9, then back to HK for another 4, then to Bali for 9.
Initially I was thinking to leave the laptop locked up securely with our hotel in HK while we came to Bangkok and Bali - but the hotel doesn’t offer much for secure stoage…
ps, if I do bring my laptop (an Apple 15″ powerbook) - do I just need an outlet adaptor or the voltage adaptor also?
Bali Power is 240volt and 2 round pin yes youll need an adapter not sure of Canada power supply … found many people using laptops at the internet outpost .. and personally found leaving goods in my hotel room Secure enough
