Feels like southern Cal here in Kuta Bali

The other night I woke up in bed, my fan blowing cold air over me and wondered why it was chilly. Usually having the fan on maintains air flow and a comfortable sleeping temperature.

This morning walking on the beach it again was chilly and I now understand why people say the dry season is so pleasant. The skies are clear, humidity is way down and we have those cool mornings and evenings now, it just like southern California.

With Chris coming out in 3 weeks from Oregon I am very much looking forward to getting out and enjoying new parts of the island.

Hotel occupancy is way down, along with prices and crowds, so if you want a very cool vacation, one that will allow to relax ( great climate ), interact ( friendly people ), shop ( great prices ) and enjoy your time here ( everything is in handy reach ) you need look no furthur. Come to Bali.

Nick,
For those who are eco-tourists and, or, interested in environmental matters might find this new place just opened in DPS interesting.
Just might have a ‘gecko’ myself!.

(5/15/2003) On Tuesday, May 13, 2003, Bali’s Governor, I Dewa Made Beratha, presided over ceremonies marking the opening of a Mangrove Information Center in Bali’s capital of Denpasar.

Expected to serve as a center for the study and preservation of the region’s coastal mangrove forests, the Center was funded with money granted by the Government of Japan via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Mangrove forest are known to be key breeding areas for a variety of sea creatures fundamental to the Ocean’s food chain whose very existence is threatened if mangrove forests are destroyed by coastal development.

Mangrove information center in Bali’s capital of Denpasar provided many valuable tangible and intangible benefits to the local people and the local authorities. However, could you describe into more detail how much budgets were spent by JICA to replant mangroves and rehabilitate the coastal environments?. This information is required for explaining the negative impacts of coastal aquaculture. In this regard, could you please share your available information regarding budgets for establishing mangroves in Denpasar, Bali.

Many thanks….
