Visiting Green Ball on the Bukit Bali

greenball072805.jpgThursday afternoon I wanted to explore somewhere new, so I gathered my sun protection gear together and headed down to the Bukit. The Bypass took me in the direction of Nusa and I took the Uluwatu turn off. Heading up the hill I followed signs for the Bali Cliff Resort, located on the south coast of the Bukit peninsula. The resort is closed for renovations and I rode down the adjacent road towards Green Ball, the southern most surfing beach in Bali.

Green Ball isn't one of the main surf spots in Bali, but is definitely on the map. Lose your board here and you'll be heading to Australia.

There is a very obvious parking area (free) and I stopped at the local warung overlooking the cliffs for a Pocari Sweat. Local guys were playing a game of pool next to the warung on one of those Balinese tables with microscopic balls. Interestingly they would deal a hand of cards from a deck to each of the 4 players, who assembling his hand would take a shot and then make an adjustment. Money was being handed around so I wasn't about to get in on it. The little warung was bacically a shop that served drinks and offered noodles. rice and soup.
