Don’t give me money, give me hard labor

A New Zealand web site owner who sold it for US$29m, is giving the money to charity because he doesn’t know what to do with it.

Gareth Morgan owned a stake in TradeMe.com and said he was too old to start worrying about how to handle a large amount of money. He said how he enjoyed working and preferred to do charity work.

Actually I’m the same. After we sell Baliblog, I plan to give everything away and sleep under a bale close to th beach with a blanket and a petrol can full of tuak.

I’m sure that US$29 wouldn’t change my life either. Is this the right figure Nick or are there a few zeros missing?

Yes that is US$29million or NZ$43million - His son owned the company and it was sold in total to Fairfax Australia for about NZ$700million -

Hi Nick,

I’ve just noticed the “m”. Makes a world of difference, doesn’t it?

Ok Nick, you can sell me baliblog, and I promise you I won’t pay you a dime, in return I will make you work as hard as ever.
