Daily life in Kuta Bali

My new internet connection is not working today I am sitting in a sauna (Agung NET) in Kuta using a keyboard with defective keys and perspiring like a pervert.

My usual internet place Internet Outpost has been out of action for 3 days with hardware / spyware problems.

Kind of frustrating for me as its like trying to work with one arm tied behind my back.

By the way I pulled a real Nick move the other night (not a Dick move, I am worse than that). Stressed out by the traffic, connection and wanting to push through and get things moving I rushed to an ATM on Jl. Seminyak to get some cash. My PIN would not work so I tried again.

I use 2 cards and am slightly dislexic. A third try got my card shut down so today I was trying to get my bank in the US to re activate it. Fun eh?

I cannot stand the heat here any longer, its about 90f with no air flow so I will be back on line sometime later.

……………………………………………………

Update: When I walked into Internet Outpost this evening the staff were telling me it could be days till they were back online. It took Ika for a walk on Kuta beach and on returning saw James, a Canadian computer expert who swings through Indonesia every once in a while, sitting fixing their system. Its a simple routing issue, he told me, If they were on UNIX it would be 1 command but they are on Windows so you have to screw around. Hopefully he can help them out.

I contacted my bank in the US via there website and they told me ATM cards usually unblock automatically after 24 hours of being blocked. I ran to the ATM an am back in business. I bought Ika cookies and chocolate milk to celebrate.

Last but not least my home connection is back online.

When these other Bali expats tell me living here is easy, there is no stress, nothing to worry about, just lay back in your hammock and chill, I think who are you kidding?

Right now though things are clicking.
