Checking out some happening hotels in the Kuta area in Bali

Bali is stacked with hotels and guests houses.

The Poppies Lane area of Kuta has a ton of cheap guest houses that are usually okay and will run yo about 50,000rp per night.

For those who need a little bit of luxury or privacy a budget range hotel mght be the go. I recently visited the Adhi Jaya on Jl. Kartika Plaza, the main road all the taxis take from the airport. This is one of the small hotels that are really handy and allow you to relax by the pool for a decent price. Following on from that I visited the Discovery Kartika Plaza yesterday and will have my report up soon. I used my little tape recorder to walk round like James Bond talking to myself. I even interviewed one of the managers by plonking it on the table and chatting. Discovery is a very nice 5 star place next to Waterbom Park ( water slides and family fun). Discovery is beach front only a mile from the airport! Not bad if you want to maximize your time and cut down on traveling time. It also seems to have some of the most attractive front desk staff around…maybe its the costume that does it.

I am eagerly anticipating freinds arriving from the US. Actually I have never met Donovan and Carrie who have just got married but know sometihng about Donovan since he works with us on our other travel sites at BootsnAll.com.

They both arrive on Sept 1st and I will do my best to shoe them a good time. The fridge will be stocked, the linen clean, the beer cold and agenda set to ‘anything’.

While Donovan and Carrie are here we hope to take a short trip to the Gili Islands in Lombok and I will give my thoughts along the way. The flight from Bali to the airport in Mataram cost 230,000rp. We’ll have to get a taxi and boat from there. I can’t wait!

BBQ coming up thios sunday fro any Baliheads reading this. You single male travellers need to jump on this because halfway through the last one I found myself the only male with 6 lovely ladies (there you go Angie and Ellie I called you lovely).
