Sean, Chris and myself are in Thailand for a couple of weeks doing some promotional work and took a taxi down to the resort of Pattaya this afternoon.
We’re staying outside the main town at a place called Cabbages & Condoms, a very nice little hotel on the beach that give you condoms and strongly encourage safe sex on their bathroon mats. We originally wanted to go to Koh Samui but the time thing wasn’t in our favour so Pattaya it was. This place has a reputation as a whore house by the sea but its actually scenic around the outskirts. Very handy for people who want a beach town close to Bangkok, the drive is about 2 1/2 hours. Taxi was around 1,000 baht.
Had some decent Thai food this afternoon and will sample some more later.

Cabbages & Condoms is a very nice lpace indeed with very lush gardens and air con.
Last night Chris and I watched a a Premiership game live and today Sean saw the Cubbies get beaten on tv.
Our mats, front, bach and bathroom haven’t seen any kind of entertainment as our room is a ’sex free zone.’

Well I had been invited to some very close friends wedding, He is Balinese &like a brother to me, I introduced her to him a few years earlier, she is from Seattle.
They had married a few months earlier in Seattle & invited Maddison (almost 2) at the time & I to their Balinese Wedding, as I had been stuffed around by Maddison’s Father, I had not returned to Bali for a couple of years & was not sure I was ready to return, I decided to go & I have never travelled away from Maddy, plus everyone was busting to meet her. We arrived I saw Gede & thought nothing much, until I spent a day in Denpasar getting new Kebaya’s etc with others & Maddy hung out in the village, upon my return I realisedshe had become attached to Gede. Over the next few days we realised we had met years earlier, I thought he had gorgeous, but sad eyes & I certainly was not wanting to get involved in another long distance relationship, aftera couple of weeks he kissed me, I knew at the exact second, we would be together… Maddy is almost 5 now. I have never been happier than when I am around both Maddy & Gede they adore each other. I think my friends for pushing me to attend their Wedding, Unfortunately they could not make it to ours, but have checked out the pic’s & story Nick wrote.
I still have not heard from the various persons I emailed on Monday about Gede’s visa & file number……!
It is funny how you feel when you just know that person is the “1″ Luckily Gede felt the same!!!!!

Blew me over Wombat ridge!. I thought Gede was Maddie’s father. Shit, who is a dumbo then….I am!. Just looking at the fotos of your wedding, the three of of you are truly the ‘one unit’ if you understand what I mean.
Interesting you should mention about the visa thing. I was watching the news last night about those refugees from Afghanistan signing up with Centrelink, organising Medicare cards and opening bank accounts.
What I’m getting at Tracey is that the likes of you and me have such hassles getting our husband/wife into Oz and those guys walk in and get given everything on a platter. I suppose it’s not being very Christian of me to think like that BUT hey, who should have the priority.

I guess it is not very “HINDU” of me either, but I agree. Gede & no doubt Candika would be supported or working. These people are getting our tax money.
I am a ’single Mum’ as such working FullTime, paying my taxes waiting for my hubby to get here & he will look after Maddy…’our daughter’. Once he finds work she will be at school & we will work out a system, but we will do it OURSELVES!!!
To me it is one world, it belongs to no one person.
It is just frustrating when it takes them a month to give you a damn number which is a reference of whom we are & our application. Until you get the number, you pretty much don’t exist & therefore cannot move on to the next prcedure!
We are a family in every sense of the word, Maddy has not seen her “dad” since she was 8 months old & had only seen him twice when 3 months for 2 weeks & again for a week “max” at 8 months of age. TRo her Dede is Daddy…her theory is one we treasure…

Children have a beautiful manner in expressing feelings from their hearts. Maddie is a pure and lovely gem!.
I wish you all the best in getting an interview without a number. I reckon Gede will be pushing shit uphill. What is needed at the JKt Embassy is Austrlians processing applications and not pen-pushing Indo clerks who sit around discussing soapies and pop stars.
Everytime C applies for just a tourist visa to vist Perth she has hassles. I end up calling the Family Unit at the embassy and up goes my phone bill cos they take their time in answering the phones.
Any application should be a straighforward matter whether it be for a tourist visa or a temp visa. But hey, we both know what beauracracy is like over in Indo eh!.

Gede spent 15 minutes prewssing all these buttons from the recording that answered the phone in Jkt, but only between the operating times of 2pm-4pm.
Only to be cut off, so he tried again only to have the sameting done. He then called the Bali office & was told to give it anotrher 2 weeks as it is still well & truly in the normal time frame!!!
To them maybe, but for us, thatis another 2 weeks of nothing & being apart!!!
I guess at this stage, we will waiut the next 2 weeks & if he has not heard something start calling again, or maybe he can just go to Jkt for a week & go in everyday until he can be given his interview!!!!
I have emailed to Jkta several times & not once has anyone replied!!!!
Well I guess I will give them 2 weeks to contact us & then begin chasing them again!
Maddie truly is a blessing, she is very cheeky, but very good too.

Ain’t it the usual when you call the embassy at JKT. At one time you used to be able to get through to the actual embassy offices. Now, you get fed to some quirky phone system which iss only answered during certain times.
The only numbers I have Tracey are the same as yours. Yaitu, the embassy number in JKT. When they take the time to answer, then you are put on hold until some shithead decides to pick the receiver up and speak!. That’s if they don’t hang the phone up!.
