British embassy in Jakarta closed after bomb threat

Friday morning I intended to visit the British consulate in Sanur to get a certificate saying I am still single.

I need this certificate ( cost around 1m rp) for my wedding in a couple of weeks. After calling a couple of times all I got was a recorded message and so decided to go down myself anyway.

Arriving I found the place to be closed, as least that is what the guard told me, not speaking any English.

I did not know of any local holiday going on right now or any British holiday. I just found out the British embassy in Jakarta has been closed temporarily due to a bomb threat and I am sure they ordered Mark Wilson to close the Bali office.

While outside the office I managed to snap a Balinese funeral procession in full regalia. Photos will appear later today.

Sanur is lovely and sunny today and after visiting my friend Mike Hillis and his family in their shop I am about to review a hotel here.

Will have to come back next week for the certificate and hope all goes off without any bombings.
