Ubud is stunningly beautiful place and now, it has a new addition with the opening of the Botanical Garden Ubud recently. Situated some 1.2 kilometres from the centre of town, it offers visitors a relaxed and unique setting.

An article in the Bali Discovery newsletter has more on the subject including some fabulous photos. As if Ubud isn't beautiful enough, and now with this new addition, it will be even more delightful to visit.

Nick has compiled an excellent selection of accommodation in Ubud as well as the numerous places to eat. And, not forgetting the great places to visit.

Ubud is centrally located on the island of Bali and from there it is easy to access other areas of interest like Candi Dasa and Karangasem in the East, Kintamani in the north, and direct north to places like Danau Bratan, Tampaksaring, Tirta Empul and many more. Beyond there are places like Singaraja and Lovina that are easily accessible in a day.

Thanks for this article Barrie, I will be putting it on my “go see” list for October. After being to Bali 15 times it will be great to see a new development.
The first time I stayed in Ubud I was amazed at the difference between that and the rest of the ‘touristy’ areas. A really lovely spot.
