Saturday night in Portland Oregon we held the annual BootsnAll travel party. The event drew 250+ people, a little more than my bbqs, and we met all kinds of good people who like to travel or are planning on taking their first trip.
To grease the wheels we brought along 79 bottles of wine and 2 kegs of beer. Food was provided by our friends from Acadia restaurant, home of the 3 inch thick pork chop (I had one on my first night back here and I swear it was more like 4 inches thick).
My job at the party was to man the ‘Bali room’ and stamp the ‘passports’ of the guests. We made a set of party games where people got their party passport stamped. I felt like I was a talking head. The party started at 7pm and we got out of there at 1am. Bali and why someone should add it to their round the world (RTW) trip was a big topic I relied on and I hope the people I talked to actually make it out to Bali. The BootsnAll crew here are pretty bushed after working all Saturday and now I am taking advantage of my last couple of days here to watch football (NFL) on TV. Since getting my eyeballs lasered, I can see across the room perfectly clearly and it’s great!
