Barrie flies out of Bali

Today I met wth Barrie at hotel Prawita on Jalan Legian in Kuta to have a last chat and say goodbye. He was busy packing the rest of Candika’s gear that she left behind (”my wife is the world’s worst packer” ).

We sat in the restaurant and the manager Ayu served us a pot of Bali coffee and a cup of tea. Barrie is sad to go but will be working on some cultural pieces for us. Hopefully he’ll be back in a month.

I visited the Legian Paradiso hoping to track down the elusive sales manager after making a couple of calls, no luck so I moved on to my next task, getting a meeting with the marketing manager of Blue Bird taxi. I called but the lady on the other end said ‘I no speak English’. Not wanting to give up I rode down to Nusa Dua and met with a representative.

The weather is just lovely this time of year and is really not unpleasant for the tropics, in fact it feels like summers day in California with cool nights.

Just hit a cheap padang food place before coming to Global for a fun packed Friday night.

I saw a traffic accident the other night on Jl. Legian, looked like a couple of ‘bules’ sprawled out on the sidewalk not moving with a crowd gathered around. Got to wear those helmets.
