Baliblog is an unusual name that many people have commented on. The Bali part is easy to figure out and the blog part means 'weblog'. A recent BBC article claims the personal weblogs are being set up at a rate of 1 per second. That's about the same rate as people ask me about setting up their websites.
The great thing about blogs is they allow you to quickly and easily post stuff online, photos, comment, links etc. People can comment which means you have a sharing of information, not just one way. For people thinking of doing a blog I would say its easier than you'd think, both to run and to keep up with. I have never been able to do a journal, even when traveling because after reading my thoughts I considered them crap. Blogging is better because I can link to other pages, ask questions and get reaction, not just logging reams of nonsense for no reason.
Some of the blog posts on other people sites that I've found the most entertaining have been very simple. One lady wrote 'I've got to stop typing, I've just spilt a glass of chocolate milk all over my sweater.' I thought that was funny and the thing that people tap into is the 'human voice' as opposed to the 'contrived media voice' that we are all used to.
