Bali: Why is it better than Hawaii?

Bali is the perfect place for a holiday for a number of reasons. Bali has friendly people, low prices, great food, great surfing and a truly unique culture. Let's see how it stacks up against some of its competitors.

Bali vs. Hawaii:

Prices: Bali is WAY cheaper than Hawaii and you can eat and drink to your hearts content without breaking the bank. Isn’t that part of a good holiday? Plenty of budget accommodation and affordable shopping.

Food: Hawaii has great seafood, but its SO expensive. Indonesian food takes some people a while to get used to, but its cheap and good. Bali has such a great array of international restaurants.

Weather: Both places enjoy great weather.

Culture: Bali is mostly a traditional village culture that is adapting to tourism. Hawaii is the 50th state of the US. The place is pretty Americanized although there are some traditional areas where outsiders can’t go.

Beaches: Hawaii has better beaches, although there are unspoilt beaches in Bali that are only 20 minutes from Kuta.

Surfing: Hawaii gets bigger waves, but only during the winter season. Bali has year round surfing.

Accessibility for a tourist: Hawaii is 170 islands, with several main one being the inhabited ones. To visit them all on a short trip you will have to fly, which is expensive. Bali is basically one island with a few others (Nusa Lembongan etc). Its easy to get around and see the whole island without spending a lot of money or wasting time.

Hey, I just wanted to add, on the part of Hawaii, that although Bali sounds like it has more of traditional more un-americanized feel to it, Hawaii, has some of the most wonderful experiences that one could ever hope for.

Right now, I am and have been working for Norwegian Cruise Lines for the past 4 months, and I have enjoyed alot of what i have seen and done. Even if there is alot of “westerization” going on here and even if the true hawaiian culture SEEMS to be slowly fading away into nothingness, I have found lots of fun and exciting things to do here on my free time.

anywho, just thought I would give you “the other side of the story”

Thanx
Drew
