Bali weather

by Nick on May 9, 2006

by Nick | May 9th, 2006

Its May 9th today and we had a lovely thunderstorm an hour ago. My garden path hs 2 inches of water. Looking at the Bali 10 day weather forecast, I can see we might get some more tonight, then we’re all clear or a while.

My brother in law came over earlier, sporting his poncho. He has to wear pants and a shorts for his job, but showed up carrying his shoes with his pants rolled up to his knees. The 20,000rp umbrella I bought a while ago came in handy for me on my lunch trip. Wearing a short sleeve t-shirt, shorts a sandals, I wasn’t too concerned about the rain.

Right after the rain stopped, the sun came out and its Bali weather again.

Bali Weather

Bali is the place to be be right now for weather. We get cooling night time showers and great, sunny days. Here’s more on temperatures on the Island of the Gods.

There is one thing JI (Jemaah Islamiyah) can’t blow up, and that’s the weather. Bali is a tropical island with good all year round climate. Our high today was 87f (31C). How does that compare with where you live? If you’re sick of cold, wet weather, get on a plane and come to Bali.

Here is the 10 day weather forecast for Bali.

Feels like paradise right now, and its a shame more people aren’t here to enjoy it.

Hi,

Is there anything to worry about in booking a vacation to Nusa Dua in the beginning of March? (climate wise…is it often cloudy?)

Bali weather

by Nick on April 22, 2006

by Nick | April 22nd, 2006

Tourists were loving the weather today down at the beach on Double Six. Winds were light, skies were blue and everything was right with the world. From my workout place I can look down on the beach, so as the holidaymakers are sweating in the sun, I am sweating on the treadmill.

Every night for the last few, we’ve had showers. These are usually around 2am or later and I like them. Its great hearing rain hammer down, knowing that the soil is getting a healthy dose of moisture.

Our 10 day weather forecast in Bali, says we’ll get isolate thunder storms for the next few days. These will be at the times I mentioned most likely. If you are coming to Bali in the near future, remember to bring a sun hat a tube of sunscreen.

Bali weather

by Nick on April 5, 2006

by Nick | April 5th, 2006

Bali is at the end of the wet season and the last few days have been affected by Cyclone Gloria. Legian beach looks like a garbage dump and large sections of Kuta Beach had a lot of sand stripped away, some of it blown onto Jl. Pantai Kuta.

Wet, windy weather was the scene in Bali during Nyepi, but the last couple of days have seen a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Looking at the 10 day weather forecast for Bali, we see intermittent storms, tapering off to sunshine.

Bali weather

Saturday was a steamy day with sunshine all round. Heading into the evening the clouds came over and we have enjoyed a 10 minute shower.

It will probably rain later tonight but that should not quieten down the party scene. A lot of people live out here just so they can party. I see guys in their 50′s coming out of the woodwork at sundown everyday.

Here is the 10 day weather forcast for Bali.

Bali Weather

by Nick on December 11, 2002

by Nick | December 11th, 2002

Bali sits 8 degrees south of the equator and enjoys a year round tropical monsoon climate. There is little seasonal variation in temperature and the main seasons are wet season and dry season. December through February is the wettest time of the year and July to September the driest.

I’ve visited Bali at the end of the dry period and it still seems like a green, tropical island. Traveler friends of mine have also visited in the wet season and said it didn’t spoil their enjoyment at all, it just meant they had a one big downpour every day. The average temperatures range between 86f – 74f (30C- 23C) for coastal areas. The temperature gets cooler in hill areas such as Ubud so bring a sweater.

Expect high humidity with daytime numbers of around 80%, you’ll be sweating and finding a shady place that serves drinks will become part of your routine. Although most local guest houses that are constructed of bamboo do not have air-con, they have a fan and you will be fairly comfortable as long as you allow breezes to flow through.

Dear Nick! Don’t know your e-mail address, that’s why I am writing here. I have some questions for you. Is it possible to find a host family in Bali, with whom it will be possible to live for 6 or more months in order to travel around the island, learn their culture, etc? Maybe there are any organizations, which can be of any use to me? I will be grateful for any information, thanks :) Katy

Katy,

I will ask around. I think it is very asy to meet a ‘host family’ here as far as local people and rent a room for a small amount. Living expenses especially way form the tourist areas are low, the average person working i Kuta earns 450,000rp per month ( US$50) and manages to rent a room and fed themselves.

I think it would be awesome to live with a family up in the mountains or out in the eastern part of the island.

E-mail me and tell me more about your plans.

Hi Nick-
My husband and I are coming to Bali the end of November for 2 1/2 weeks. Spending 11 days on Kararau diving in Komodo Park and around the area and then basing ourselves in Ubud for a week. Please can you send me the top 10 sites, places to visit, temples, hikes or ceremonies to go to…and your favorite 2 restaurants in Ubud..this is vacation…price in not an issue.

Also do you have the name and address of one or two shops/places (not where the tourists go) in or around Ubud to find a unique piece of antique art to bring home from Bali…

Also, are they already in the rainey season and will I see the sun? Worried about that. Thanks Freddi

Hi there : ) I’m interested in heading over to Bali in mid November for just over a week, and i noticed you had friends that travelled there during wet season. Is it really only the one down-pour each day- i’m worried that it’ll ruin my trip? My bf has been before, but i haven’t.

Cheers.
