Bali Unscathed by Earthquake

Many folks have been asking me today if Nick is ok. He is in London at the moment. And it appears that Bali was not affected by this horrible natural disaster.

Prayers and good vibes out to all affected.

I am sure everyone is shocked by the effects the earthquake and tsunami has had in south Asia.

As far as I have been able to tell Bali has been unaffected. Baliwaves.com says the tsunami didn’t much affect the local scene.

My condolences go out to those affected in other parts of the region and I will be able to give a local idea of news filtering through when I arrive on Dec 30th.

Oh so glad to hear that Bali is unscathed by the tsunami. I read a posting on the first person account on the BBC World News that a tourist along with friends were sitting in a bar when a wave washed ashore and removed the furniture and said bar back into the ocean, along with fellow revellers.

We have a friend in Bali. Given the report here, we won’t worry for his whereabouts.

Bless the Blog!

I am looking for some help, My 2 sons (Alaskans) are staying there in Kuta, they just had returned from a trip to Gili and Flores Is. We had a close friend die at Puket in Thailand and need to contact the boys. We are concerned that they haven’t called or e-mailed us since before Christmas. There are 4 Alaskan guys traveling together, Micah and Ashton are brothers. We do not have the name of the cottages they are renting at. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you,
Michelle (worried mom) in Homer, Alaska

If anyone is going over to Sumatra to help out please contact me. I would like to get a group together to assist the victims of this disaster.

Wish to say hello to my brother Jim and his wife. We’re very concerned about recent earthquake activity and hope Jim’s extended family are well.

Love, Kathy
